Library Student Worker Handbook: Home

Student Workers as TML Mission Drivers

Welcome TML Ambassadors! We are glad to have you as a library student worker and we are excited to be a part of your professional development journey!

As a student worker at Thurgood Marshall Library, you are a Mission Driver! You are an integral part of the library's success because you help us drive our mission. Now how do you do that? Here we go!

  1. Support patrons with their library questions and make sure they leave you knowing where to go next!
  2. Talk to your classmates and colleagues about the Library and the resources we have for them, and you of course!
  3. Be a part of our events, not just as an attendee, but also as a planner, yep! You get to plan events too.
  4. Invite your friends to our great events and let them see you have fun while working! How cool...
  5. Tell us how we can improve our services to serve you and our BSU patrons better.

These are a few ways you help us drive our mission as an ambassador, but it's so much more than this once we start!

Thurgood Marshall Library Mission

The Thurgood Marshall Library enhances the mission of Bowie State University by developing, selecting, acquiring, and organizing print, electronic, audio-visual resources, and equipment appropriate to the University's academic programs.
