Dasarte Yarnway is founder and managing director of Berknell Financial Group (BFG), a fiduciary wealth management and financial planning firm headquartered in San Francisco, California. Born in San Francisco and raised in that city’s Geneva Towers housing project, Dasarte’s curiosity about money and the way it works began when he saw the lack of money in his community’s households, schools, and businesses. His own parents were Liberian immigrants who had been forced to leave their country because of the threat of civil war. In response to these experiences, he sought to create the multigenerational wealth that his family and the families around his neighborhood lacked.
