RefWorks: How to Export and Import Citations in ProQuest

How do I move references from the ProQuest database into RefWorks?

ProQuest is an online research database platform that provides access to 19 academic databases available in the A-Z databases through BSU Discovery.  

Steps to export and import references in ProQuest to RefWorks are as follows:
1.  At the BSU Discovery webpage, click A-Z DATABASES above the search box.


2.  In the All Vendors/Providers search box (third), click the down arrow, scroll down and click ProQuest (19).

 

3. Choose the database you want to use.  For this exercise, click ABI Inform Global.


4. You have the option to include the other 19 academic databases in ProQuest.  To add more databases, click change databases.


5. Chose the other databases and click Use selected databases.


6. Type in your search string and chose your sources.  For articles, check the Full text and Peer reviewed boxes.  When finished with your selection, click the magnifying glass icon.


7. Click the Cite icon.
 

8. Select the citation format and click RW RefWorks.


9. Click Continue.

 

10. Click Import.

 

11. Click Go to Last Imported.

 

12. Check the box before the citation.

 

13. Click Create Bibliography.



14. Click Create Bibliograph a second time.



15. Click Copy to Clipboard.




16. Paste the citation in your bibliography.
