What should I know about Interlibrary Loan?
Interlibrary Loan is a worldwide cooperative resource-sharing service that enables libraries to borrow and lend scholarly resources. It is a tool to use when the library does not have the article you need. To register, please click “First Time Users" or use this link.
Types of materials that can be borrowed
- Books that are not owned by Thurgood Marshall Library or any other USMAI libraries.
- Scholarly journal articles for journal titles that Thurgood Marshall Library does not own.
Before submitting your Interlibrary Loan request
- Search BSU Discovery to confirm that the book is not available within USMAI Libraries
- Request books from other USMAI libraries through USMAI Resource Sharing
- Search BSU Discovery or Journal Search to confirm that the book or journal article you need is not available at BSU Thurgood Marshall Library
- Request books and journal articles that are not available at BSU Thurgood Marshall Library through Interlibrary Loan
Select Interlibrary Loan under the Library Services on the top right dropdown menu of the library website.
User Name: enter the 14-digit Lib# on your Bulldog Card
Password: anything you want - preferably your Last Name
Login failed? Please check your username and password before trying again, or click on Forget Password or First Time User.
First Time User Registration page opens. Follow the instructions (About your Username and Password, Important Copyright Information, etc.)
Scroll down and click on the First Time User Click Here button.
First Time Users: fill out the New User Registration for ILLidad correctly and with the required information.
Use your 14-digit Lib# from the front of your Bulldog Card for your ILLiad ID. 
1. Sign in to BSU Discovery from "How to get it" in the search result.
2. Use your BSU login ID and password.
3. Click on the "Request a Book through Interlibrary Loan" link in blue to move to ILLiad.
4. Enter your 14-digit library ID and your ILLiad password to log in. If you don't have an account, click on the "First Time Users" link under the logon menu.
5. BSU Discovery fills the form: edit if necessary and confirm, then click on the "Submit Request" button at the bottom of the page.
