Introduction to the Class from the Syllabus

Special topics in criminal justice studies are designed to address substantive topics, problems, and issues not covered in other courses, but important to contemporary study of criminal justice and the professional development of students. The special topics offered this semester focus on investigating crimes of passion, violent crimes, serial crimes, victims and perpetrators. This course will examine contemporary issues in criminal justice through a combination of readings, discussion, research, and experiential learning.
